After a successful launch that brought more than 600 people to the galleries and streets of 798 Dashanzi art district, artWALK Beijing is excited to announce its second event on Saturday, April 21st. This month’s artWALK features another selection of 798’s established art galleries providing after-hours access to their Beijing spaces, as well as insight into the dynamic contemporary arts scene.

After the art venues close at 8 pm, all visitors and participants are invited to a cocktail reception bringing the arty and party together and providing Beijingers a unique opportunity for discussion and socializing in one of China’s hottest cultural districts.

artWALK Beijing has invited the following 798 Dashanzi art district venues to participate on Saturday, April 21st: 798 Beijing Art Place, Dimensions Art Center, Xin Dong Cheng Space for Contemporary Art I & III, Marella Gallery, Red Gate/798 Gallery, Star Gallery and the Yan Club Arts Center. As part of its monthly lecture series in conjunction with artWALK, Timezone 8 Editions will also host a discussion with owner Robert Bernell, who will talk about the history of the 798 art district.

Following the artWALK at galleries and lecture event, a cocktail reception will be held at the Yan Club Arts Center with a live music provided by DJ Kora and DJ Ken Luo.

artWALK Beijing is a regular monthly arts and culture event aimed at bringing a broad spectrum of Beijing’s community together. Through artWALK, we hope to foster a deeper understanding of Chinese contemporary art as well as provide a neutral platform for all members of the arts and public community to gather.
